Excuses
If a member plans to miss a mandatory event, email the Corresponding Secretary by the deadline that the Corresponding Secretary has set. These are rules and regulations for in-person semesters.
Acceptable excuses for missed events include:
If a member plans to miss a chapter meeting, an email must be sent to the Recording Secretary at least two hours before chapter. A member is allowed four (4) excused absences per semester. The acceptable excuses for missing chapter are the same as for mandatory events. Remember that chapters with elections and Senior Recognition are worth two (2) excuses!
There will be no unexcused absences. If a members is to miss a chapter meeting, a mandatory event, or a service event, he/she must send an excuse to the appropriate officer in a timely manner before the function.
Acceptable excuses for missed events include:
- functions that pertain to a member's major or career
- exams or review sessions
- trips home
- illness
- death in the family or a loved one
- religious holidays or observances
- emergency situations or other events approved by the Executive Board
